Haitian Blue Mountain “Baptiste”

Tasting Notes: Dark Chocolate - Almond - Citrus - Jasmine

Haitian Blue Mountain coffee is incredible beyond my wildest expectations!

This distinctly-chocolaty cup of coffee has delicate floral aromas, almond smoothness and a hint of sweet citrus. It’s roasted low-and-slow to a perfect medium, flavorful and inviting you to drink it black, yet pairs perfectly with any addition.

Black Rose Coffee is fortunate to have access to this sustainable, direct-trade coffee via Cafe Kreyol. This particular bean, containing the DNA of what is considered the best coffee in the world, is shade-grown, making it even more of a fine rarity!

Haiti has a complicated history with coffee and other export commodities. Institutionalized colonial plantations that were built on slavery and indentured servitude ceased to produce coffee following the Haitian Revolution of 1804. It was only after the horrendous 2010 earthquake in Haiti that neighboring Jamaica, known worldwide for Blue Mountain coffee, brought over clones of their prized plants as a gesture of goodwill to stimulate the Haitian economy. Black Rose Coffee is extremely honored and privileged to have access to this coffee and we are so thrilled to share it with you.
